Giovanna Moraga Clayton
As a veteran of the Los Angeles music scene, my career has taken me to scoring stages, concert stages, festival stages, and club stages around the world. I’ve had the incredible privilege and fortune of playing on hundreds of film and tv scores, soundtracks and hit records. As a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and Quattrosound, I’ve performed with artists ranging from Yo-Yo Ma, to Brandi Carlile, Barbra Streisand to Alice Cooper and everything in between. My television credits include The Oscars, The Emmys, American Idol, The Voice, The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel and a myriad of other late night and prime time television appearances. As a Latin Grammy nominated artist with a passion for music production, networking and organizing, I enjoy combining my passions as the head of the communications department of I AM Music Group.
I am a native of Oxnard, Ca, and moved to Los Angeles where I earned my Bachelor's degree at CSUN in Kinesiology while dancing and touring the world. I have worked for over 20yrs in the television and film industry dancing for such artists as Will Smith, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Celine Dion, Will I am, Janelle Monáe, Jamie Foxx, T-Pain, and many more. My television appearances include shows such as American Idol, The Voice, The Billboard Awards and Saturday Night Live. After a long stint in the industry as a dancer, my evolution as an artist seamlessly led me to graphic design and editing. I’ve worked as an editor for several high profile social media influencers, music artists and non profits. Hard work, creativity and innovation are what drive me to cater to each client’s needs in order to produce the best possible content for their brand.
My passion, drive and the way I understand the world is stitched through music. As a child, I loved to sing and dance and was highly influenced by my grandmother’s love for music. While in high school I played saxophone in the marching band, made mixtapes by recording songs to my tape deck from the radio, “borrowed” my dad’s record player to complete my DJ setup that allowed me to make money playing music at parties and weddings. During my college years I DJ'd at the campus radio station and won a competition singing the national anthem for a homecoming basketball game with the wonderful woman that is now my wife. After graduation I interned for Epic, Columbia (Fugees), Immortal (Korn), and 550 Records (Celine Dion, Genuine) ultimately landing a job at MJJ Music (Michael Jackson’s record Label). Working for the A&R and Promotion departments I discovered that, much like my father, I was an entrepreneurial spirit. A few years later, my wife and I formed I AM Music Group Inc with the intention of creating music and content that contained the stories we wanted to tell and hear. Along the way I began managing a group that would eventually be nominated for a Latin Grammy. I’ve captured recordings for Star Trek Lower Decks, The Aristocats,The Simpsons, Seth McFarlane, Animaniacs, Family Guy, Minions 2, Solar Opposites, Michael Jackson, Doja Cat, Jackiem Joyner, Brian Bromberg, and Quattrosound. I’ve also dipped into TV and film where I’ve recorded production audio and mixed for a few Independent Feature Films.
